Ashvale Chronicles
Ashvale Chronicles is the kind of mobile RPG I keep hoping to find and rarely do. You build a party of four, explore a dying kingdom, and make dialogue choices that actually stick. Characters remember what you said, and a few of my companions walked out on me because of decisions I'd forgotten about three chapters earlier.
Combat is turn-based with a positioning layer — where you stand on the grid matters as much as which skill you use. Progression is generous without being mindless: you earn skill points at a steady pace, and respeccing is cheap, so you're encouraged to experiment. I rerolled my mage into a hybrid support build twice and never felt punished.
The writing is the real draw. It's bleak in places, funny in others, and it trusts you to read. For a touchscreen game the menus are clean and the save system respects that you might get interrupted at any second. This one ate a full weekend and I'm not sorry.
